Scholarship Program

The Education Selection Committee is setup to manage the Scholarship program of the WNGEA. The WNGEA offers between one and five grants in the amount of $500.00 each, and one grant of $1000.00, depending on available funds. We also receive $500 from USAA which we give out as an additional scholarship. The USAA grant depends on receiving it from USAA.

Details on qualifying, and how to apply are on the application instruction form.

A new earlier deadline that applications must be received by,  is:   1 MAY

Scholarship application forms are printed in the Winter issue of the Bucky’s Bulletin each year. You can download and print a copy the application form from the web site:

> WNGEA Scholarship - Instruction and Application

Along with the WNGEA state scholarship, you can apply for the EANGUS CSM Virgil R. Williams scholarship. Depending on available funds, two or more $2000 scholarships are awarded each year. A copy of the application form is also printed in the Winter issue of the Bucky’s Bulletin, and on this web site:

> EANGUS Scholarship - Instruction and Application.

Shortly after all applications are received, the chairperson calls for a group of association members and other invited educational guests to meet and evaluate the applications, and make the selections for the available WNGEA scholarships. Those individuals selected will be notified of their selection by the Scholarship Selection Committee chairperson. All applications received will then be forwarded to EANGUS for competition in the CSM Virgil R. Williams scholarship.

A special notice to all members.
If you or your family have lost a loved one that was in the Wisconsin National Guard, or was fond of the military or National Guard, and if you want to retain a rewarding memory of him or her, you may consider offering a tax deductible donation into one of the WNGEA scholarships in their name to help another young soldier or airman in the Wisconsin National Guard that is in, or entering college. You may send a donation in any amount to the WNGEA in the name of your loved one. Your donation will be acknowledged with a Thank you letter.  The WNGEA will use your donation in our scholarship program and award a memorial scholarship in the name of your loved one.
